Art thrift store in Peekskill, Chipotle in New Rochelle, what else is new this month?

In the latest new business column, I took a look at three new offerings in Westchester including Peekskill’s Retake/Remake, an art thrift store, Thornwood’s Gold Lux “beauty bar,” and the Rye-based Swaying Butterfly skin-care line.

Along White Plains’ Platinum Mile, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital has purchased a 25-acre property and plans to place an outpatient care facility in the space formerly occupied by Pepsico. Lohud reporter David Propper has the latest on the Platinum Mile’s transformation.

Good news for Chipotle lovers: there’s another location on the way to Westchester. Lohud food reporter Jeanne Muchnick has the scoop on the new Chipotle getting ready to open in April in New Rochelle.

Across the river, seven restaurants have either opened, are in the process of opening or in the middle of getting approvals to set up shop. Jeanne Muchnick took a look at the seven restaurants including the newly opened Saints and Sinners Grill in Stony Point, the incoming Jersey Dawgz in Sparkill, and Chick-fil-A which is currently beginning the process of gaining approvals for opening their first Nanuet location.

Speaking of Chick-fil-A, there’s a lot of talk about another lower Hudson Valley location headed to Yonkers’ Central Avenue. While there have been talks, the location is still looking for approvals from the city to transform the space they’re looking to move into. A Chick-fil-A spokesperson also said they have no Yonkers locations to confirm.

The month of March is also known as National Women’s Month, with March 8 being International Women’s Day. To celebrate, small business expert Rhonda Abrams took a look at the history of women, small businesses and what’s changed for better or worse over the last 30 years.
